Our teammates really make the difference by giving you that “Welcome Home” feeling every time you visit a Bronco office. In this issue, we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Williams.

Sarah is a Quality Assurance Specialist who has been with Bronco for six years. She does a number of different kinds of audits within the credit union, including random Member Service Representative drawer audits, as well as consumer and real estate loan audits to make sure that everything has been signed and processed correctly.

We love the communities we serve, which is why you’ll frequently find us at various local events. Most recently, we showed our support for law enforcement and community partnerships by participating in Southampton County’s National Night Out on August 1st and we’ll be at the City of Franklin’s National Night Out on October 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. We invite you to come out and join us.

Speaking of support, our 26th Annual Golf Tournament, which benefits Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), will be held on Monday, October 9th at Cypress Cove Country Club in Franklin. Last year, the event raised more than $25,000. Since 2010, we have been able to donate more than $277,000 to support children’s health. We have full team participation again this year, so we’re looking forward to a great day on the links.

Don’t let storms cloud your judgment

Hurricane Idalia officially kicked off the fall storm season for the Atlantic coast. And while we were lucky enough to only have to deal with some rain and a little wind, many of our friends to the south weren’t as fortunate. To add insult to tragedy, scammers use these situations to their benefit by starting funds to help disaster victims, robbing well-wishing people of their money while providing no benefit to others.

Scammers will make up heartbreaking stories to gain your sympathy, then steal your money and in some cases your personal information. If you wish to help others, be wary of organizations you’re not familiar with and only give to organizations that are well known for providing disaster relief. Avoid crowd funding and social media causes unless you know the fundraiser, and never feel pressured to make a donation. If you have doubts, do some research before donating.
