Hometown Heroes – Bonnie Butler
Our teammates set us apart, bringing that warm, familiar feeling to life every time you walk through the doors at Bronco. To help you get to know them better, we spotlight a team member in each Hometown newsletter.
This issue’s Hometown Hero brings Bronco’s “Welcome Home” feeling to life every day. Meet Bonnie Butler, our Real Estate Loan Processor, who found a new path—and a true passion—along the way.
For Bonnie, “Welcome Home” means being somewhere you’re known and valued. It’s the same care she brings to members every day. Three years in, she guides mortgage and home equity loans from submission to closing, helping neighbors in our area reach their goals.

Can you tell us about your role as the Real Estate Loan Processor and what you enjoy most about your job?
I’m responsible for processing mortgage and home equity loan applications from submission to closing, ensuring compliance with credit union policies and regulatory guidelines, and facilitating a smooth lending process with all of the involved parties. I enjoy working with our team to help our members complete the process of achieving their financial goals. It’s rewarding to help people right here in our area make their lives more meaningful and successful, whether it’s financing a new home or using a home equity product to meet other needs.
How long have you been with Bronco? What led you to join the team?
A little over 3 years now. I was looking for a change and an opportunity close to home, and Bronco was the perfect fit. I wanted a place to work that would let me use my current skills while also giving me the chance to keep growing and learning. Having lived in this area most of my life, I’ve always admired the atmosphere at the credit union and its commitment to exceptional customer service, so when I had the opportunity to join the team, it felt like a natural decision.
What makes you good at what you do?
I care about people and try to provide customer service that reflects that care. Members are our main focus, and listening and communicating with them effectively is the best way to let them know that Bronco is here to help meet their financial needs. I also like being part of a team and building that same relationship with coworkers and members. If we bring our learned skills and our people skills together, we get the best results!
What do you think draws people to Bronco?
People are drawn to our great customer service here at BFCU. Many employees have built this customer-driven atmosphere over the years. All of our representatives strive to be their best while helping members with all the services we offer.
What does Bronco’s “Welcome Home” tagline mean to you?
It means being in a place where you’re known and you’re valued. BFCU has always led with connection to their members in so many ways, whether it’s when you walk in and are greeted with a smile, creating fun member appreciation days, assisting with financial and business needs or through the many community events we participate in throughout the year. This credit union strives to keep its members as its top priority.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I truly love spending time with my husband of 36 years, my family and, most recently, my first grandson! We love to travel to see him and enjoy time away together. I also enjoy home improvement projects; it seems like there is always something at home to improve, reconfigure or decorate!
